Sleeper type test
How sleepy are you? If you’re not getting enough sleep then you're highly likely to feel very sleepy during the day. The Epworth Sleepiness Scale is used to determine your level of daytime sleepiness and therefore give an indication as to whether you're sleeping enough.
To take the test, look at the following situations and think how likely you would be to doze off or fall asleep, in contrast to just feeling tired. This refers to your usual way of life in recent times. Even if you have not done some of these things recently, try to work out how they would have affected you had you done them.
Use the following scale to choose the most appropriate number for each situation:
- 0 = would never doze
- 1 = slight chance of dozing
- 2 = moderate chance of dozing
- 3 = high chance of dozing
The REM phase makes up about 20-25% of a normal night’s sleep and NREM makes up 75-80%. …more
